JUNIOR EXHIBITORS

The junior exhibitors are the future of our sport.  We believe it is important to offer events that they can compete in with other juniors as well as learn about the dog show world.

The Louisville Kennel Club was the 1st club in the country, in 2004, to hold a regional competition for junior handlers.  This is now what the American Kennel Club calls the Limited Junior Handler Competition.

The Top 4 Junior Handlers of The Kentuckiana Regional Junior Handler Competition are awarded a COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP. 

Juniors may reside in any state

A junior must have 2 Open wins with competition from January 31, 2025 to  January 31, 2026 to qualify for the Regional Competition held at the Louisville Kennel Club Sunday Show in March 2026.

*WILL BE HELD in March 2026* -For younger kids just starting out, we have  the Itty Bitty Plush Dog Class at the Saturday, Evansville Kennel Club Show.  This event is for kids 5 and under.  Plush dogs and leashes will be supplied or you can bring your own special plush animal. 

*WILL BE HELD in March 2026* We also offer the AKC Pee Wee Class. It too, will be held Saturday during the Evansville show. Entries are limited to 15 participants.
